NSA Supercenters to Store Americans’ Private Data Permanently

The National Security Agency is building huge new storage facilities to store the unconstitutionally gained data on the American people's telephone calls and Internet traffic permanently, including new buildings in suburban Salt Lake City, Utah, and San Antonio, Texas.

The NSA has been keeping permanent records of all American's telephone call habits and Internet traffic since shortly after September 11, 2001, according to major news reports, without the constitutionally required warrants from a court.

No longer able to store all the intercepted phone calls and e-mail in its Ft. Meade, Maryland, headquarters, the NSA is engaging in its own housing boom. How much data will these giant, multibillion dollar new facilities hold? According to James Bamford of the New York Review of Books, the facility in Utah alone could hold data that will be measured in Yottabytes. Never heard of Yottabytes? You're not alone. Most computers sold at stores still measure their storage at gigabytes…

The UFO Iconoclast(s): Roswell, White Sands and the V-2 Saga: The Controversy Continues by Nick Redfern

On Saturday, October 17, 2009, Kevin Randle posted to his blog – A Different Perspective – a new article titled The Roswell UFO and Jesse Marcel.

The article has generated a tremendous number of comments, including one from Bob Koford, who cited a link to a British website that referenced the crash of a V-2 rocket near Roswell, New Mexico on July 4, 1947 – a rocket containing a "biological payload."

The relevant data can be found at:

http://www.rocketservices.co.uk/spacelists/sounding_rockets/decades/1944-1949.htm

The "biological payload" should not be construed as having any connections with alien bodies, human bodies or monkeys, however (at the time at issue, rats, insects and other small creatures were very much the order of the day with respect to the payloads aboard the V-2 flights out of White Sands). And, indeed, it must be stressed that Bob K did not imply that the payload was anything out of the ordinary.

What is worthy of further comment, however…

Life Ingredients Found on Extrasolar Gas Giant | Wired Science | Wired.com

The basic ingredients for life have been found around a second extrasolar planet, scientists reported Tuesday.

Although the planet itself is not habitable by life as we know it, the discovery could mean that the basic components of life are widespread in the atmospheres of many kinds of exoplanets.

The new find was made by training both the Hubble and Spitzer Space Telescopes on HD 209458b, a hot Jupiter that orbits very close to its sunlike star. It’s located 150 light years away in the Pegasus constellation. In December of last year, Jet Propulsion Laboratory astronomer Mark Swain and his team found a similar Jupiter-like planet, HD 189733b, with carbon dioxide in its atmosphere.

“Detecting organic compounds in two exoplanets now raises the possibility that it will become commonplace to find planets with molecules that may be tied to life,” Swain said in a press release.

The study of exoplanets has exploded since the first were discovered in the early 1990s…

Cop Says He Saw Aliens at Crop Circle

A British police officer contacted UFO experts after claiming to see three aliens examining a crop circle in July, the Telegraph reports .

The unnamed off-duty sergeant said he saw three tall blond figures in white overalls as he drove by a field near Silbury Hill in the English county of Wiltshire.

He stopped his car and approached the "men," but as he got closer, he said he heard "the sound of static electricity" and the trio ran away ''faster than any man he had ever seen."

The officer told investigators the figures seemed to be investigating the crop circle and the crackling noise was running throughout the field ( see aerial images of the crop circle ).

Crop circle expert Colin Andrews is certain the officer encountered something unusual that day.

UFO alert: police officer sees aliens at crop circle – Telegraph

The officer returned to his home in Marlborough, Wiltshire, and contacted paranormal experts and told them he had spotted a UFO.

Wiltshire Police has refused to comment on the incident, saying it is a ''personal matter'' for the officer involved.

Crop circle researcher Andrew Russell, who is investigating the bizarre sighting on behalf of the officer, described the moment his sighting was made.

He said: ''At first he thought they were forensic officers as they were dressed in white coveralls. He stopped his car and approached the field.

''The figures were all over 6ft and had blond hair. They seemed to be inspecting the crop. When he got to the edge of the field he heard what he believed to be a sound not dissimilar to static electricity.

Prehistoric Alignment of World Wonders by jim Alison

Great circles are straight lines that go all the way around the center of the earth. The equator is a great circle. Meridians of longitude that cross over the north and south poles are also great circles. For every location on a great circle, it's antipodal location is also on the circle. Other than the equator itself, any great circle crosses the equator at two antipodal locations, 180° apart. Other than the equator and meridians of longitude that run due north and south, any great circle reaches it's maximum latitudes at two locations that are 90° of longitude east and west of the two locations where the great circle crosses the equator.

Easter Island, Nazca, Ollantaytambo, Paratoari, Tassili n'Ajjer and Giza are all aligned on a single great circle. Additional ancient sites that are located within one tenth of one degree of this great circle include Petra; Perseopolis…

Sarah Kruzan

It is heart breaking to see Sarah saying, “This means that I am going to die in prison!”. U.S is one of few countries where juveniles can be tried in a court of law and can be sentenced to life in prison. The number of children who were sentenced to life in U.S is staggering 2270.

Sarah Kruzan spent a very unfortunate childhood with her drug addicted mother in Riverside California. Sarah’s mother was not only addicted to drugs but also abusive. It is hard to imagine the life of a child in these circumstances. The situation also determines what Sarah did. It is only natural for a child in such conditions to seek protection outside of his or her home and the sad fact is that predators are all around looking for such children. As the fate would have it, Sarah met a man named G.G when she was 11. G.G became a pseudo father for Sarah. He would give her things to play with and would take her for rides. As Sarah turned 13, it was pay back time. G.G put Sarah up for prostitution.

Mind – How Nonsense Sharpens the Intellect – NYTimes.com

In addition to assorted bad breaks and pleasant surprises, opportunities and insults, life serves up the occasional pink unicorn. The three-dollar bill; the nun with a beard; the sentence, to borrow from the Lewis Carroll poem, that gyres and gimbles in the wabe.

An experience, in short, that violates all logic and expectation. The philosopher Soren Kierkegaard wrote that such anomalies produced a profound “sensation of the absurd,” and he wasn’t the only one who took them seriously. Freud, in an essay called “The Uncanny,” traced the sensation to a fear of death, of castration or of “something that ought to have remained hidden but has come to light.”

At best, the feeling is disorienting. At worst, it’s creepy.

Now a study suggests that, paradoxically, this same sensation may prime the brain to sense patterns it would otherwise miss — in mathematical equations, in language, in the world at large.

UFOMystic – UFOs As Agents Of Deconstruction

In the Archaeus Project’s 1989 journal Cyberbiological Studies of the Imaginal Component In The UFO Contact Experience Carl Raschke wrote an essay entitled “UFOs: Ultraterrestrial Agents of Cultural Deconstruction.” Raschke offered the idea that the search for meaning behind the UFO enigma was caught up in cultural ideas about aliens coming from other planets in structured craft. He also proposed that whatever was behind the UFO problem was acting as a catalyst for change in cultural ideas about what was possible and even acceptable.

Raschke noted that,”…the UFO puzzle for both investigators and the public unfolds along a trajectory that Jacques Vallee terms that of ‘recursive unsolvability.’ In mathematics a recursive function is one in which the solution cannot be reached by a simple set of successive, linear operations, but is gained only by successive, partial tallies, each of which incrementally redefines the problem itself.”

Kithra’s Krystal Kave: Alien Beings – Michelin Man

When I was 13 or 14 (in 1962/1963), I was at boarding school in Newbury, Berkshire, just 2 miles from Greenham Common Air Base. One day a friend decided to run away. The night she did this I was concerned for her safety and, after 'lights-out' I watched from my dormitory window. It would have been sometime after about 9.00 p.m., and I watched for a long time. I saw her go down the long drive, (at least the length of two hockey pitches), and disappear out of sight.

For some reason I stayed watching the main road that ran past the end of the school grounds. Suddenly, on the road, looking to my left, I saw a very tall figure that can only be described as a 'Michelin Man'. It must have been tall due to the distance involved, and the fact that I had such a clear view. I watched as it walked up the slope of the road to the crest of a hill, and out of sight.

My Way News – 2012 isn’t the end of the world, Mayans insist

MEXICO CITY (AP) – Apolinario Chile Pixtun is tired of being bombarded with frantic questions about the Mayan calendar supposedly "running out" on Dec. 21, 2012. After all, it's not the end of the world.

Or is it?

Definitely not, the Mayan Indian elder insists. "I came back from England last year and, man, they had me fed up with this stuff."

It can only get worse for him. Next month Hollywood's "2012" opens in cinemas, featuring earthquakes, meteor showers and a tsunami dumping an aircraft carrier on the White House.

At Cornell University, Ann Martin, who runs the "Curious? Ask an Astronomer" Web site, says people are scared.

"It's too bad that we're getting e-mails from fourth-graders who are saying that they're too young to die," Martin said. "We had a mother of two young children who was afraid she wouldn't live to see them grow up."

Chile Pixtun, a Guatemalan, says the doomsday theories spring from Western, not Mayan ideas.
